[0:00] Starting together now to pause second letter to Timothy and chapter 4, and we're going to read at verse 6. 2 Timothy 4 and at verse 6. [0:13] For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. [0:25] 3 Timothy 5 and at verse 6. [0:55] It is found in young people, and I'm not in any way disrespecting young people, but there is the kind of drive that looks for what young people want, and that will drive what we say in the classroom, it will drive what we do in society. [1:10] There is that kind of reversal of the very process that we have in the Bible. We come to this passage as an example, and we have Paul giving advice to Timothy, and he is doing it at the end of his life. [1:26] He is old Paul, he is mature Paul, he is the experienced Paul, and he wants to advise Timothy, who is young, who is immature, and who needs advice. [1:39] It is an important principle that we look for advice in the right place. And when we think of where Paul is giving this advice from, he is giving this advice from the prison in Rome. [1:53] It is the second time that he has been imprisoned there, and it looks at this stage as his martyrdom is around the corner. So Paul is close to the end of his life, and he wants to give advice to Timothy. [2:08] And when we read the first chapter in this letter, we see that Timothy, in many ways, needs real strong advice. [2:19] Paul recognises that he has faith in verse 1, in verse 5, but he also reminds Timothy that that faith should be active. [2:31] And very often that is one of our biggest problems, that the faith that we do have, that it's not active. And Paul is saying to Timothy that you stir up the gift of God which is in you. [2:50] Timothy needs advice because faith is inactive. And we also see that Timothy needs Paul's advice because he is a shy kind of person. [3:03] He needs encouragement. He needs to be told not to fear other people. And he wants to give that advice to Timothy, as you see in the beginning of this chapter, to recognise what's happening in society around him, which we should always do, to recognise therefore the challenges that he faces if his faith is going to be active, if it's going to be working. [3:29] And I want us tonight to look at these verses and see the way in which Paul advises Timothy. You might have faith tonight in your heart. [3:40] It might be inactive. It might be secret. And nobody knows you have it but yourself. There may be evidences of it sometimes come to the surface. But nevertheless, largely, your faith is dormant in your heart. [3:56] And in many ways, that's a contradiction of faith. But sometimes in life, people can come to understand the Gospel and embrace the Gospel and not really move forward from there. [4:08] And the Gospel wants us to move from there and to understand the fullness of our salvation and to be the kind of people that Paul was in serving the Lord. [4:21] So how does Paul then encourage Timothy? Well, it's first of all to see that Paul has a realisation. [4:33] He is sensitive to where he is. And that's a very important point in life. That we understand where we are. [4:44] At the beginning of our natural lives. At the beginning of our spiritual lives. At the end of our spiritual lives. That we recognise where we are. And to do so, we have to be sensitive to where God is in our lives. [4:59] We have to be able to listen to what God is saying. And here, we see the way in which Paul realises where he is at. In verse 6, I am already being poured out as a drink offering. [5:13] And the time of my departure is at hand. Already. He already recognises that there is a process that has already begun. [5:25] He is in the very middle of that process. And that process, he refers to here as being poured out as a drink offering. He is using the language of sacrifice to speak about the way in which he is serving the Lord. [5:41] And when we look at the Old Testament and the way in which we have sacrifices. And the way in which we have offerings. We see that sacrifices are used in the sense of pouring out blood, etc. [5:53] And the presence of God for atonement and for all of these things. But we also see drink offerings as offerings that accompany sacrifices. So I go to the tabernacle. [6:06] I go to the temple. And there are sacrifices and there are offerings that follow. And they are poured out before God. And Paul never has seen his own life as a life that is being poured out as a drink offering. [6:21] And do you see the way in which he looks at his life and connects it to the very thing that Jesus has done? He knows that Jesus said on the cross it is finished. [6:33] He knows that Jesus died for his sins. He knows that the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin. He knows that he can contribute nothing to that. But he knows that his whole existence is because of that. [6:47] And he is coming to this moment in his life. And he has that sacrifice before him. And he sees his own life as being poured out because of that. And alongside of that. [6:59] And into the very fulfilment of that. And that's how sensitive Paul was to the centrality of the cross in his life. When he began his ministry he was fully persuaded of the significance of Christ. [7:15] Damascus left him with no alternative. He saw the glory of Christ. From then onwards Christ was at the centre of his life. What he had done for him and there what he must do for Christ. [7:29] But he's coming. That there's time in his life. And his life is already being poured out in that sense. [7:40] In other words his death itself is part of following Christ. Of being a disciple for Christ. He is ready to go. [7:51] To depart. To be with Christ. And in many ways. But what's happening to him. Is a product of what happened to him on the road to Damascus. [8:05] And everything that he sees here. Connects to that very moment. And his life. Of ministry and of service. For the Lord Jesus. [8:16] Is now coming to an end. And even now. In these last moments. He sees himself. Giving himself over. To death. [8:27] And into death. He is sensitive. That he's coming. To the end of his days. And tonight. Who knows. [8:40] Who is closest. To leaving this world. Who knows tonight. Who understands where they are. In relation to time. And in relation to eternity. [8:53] And the people of God. Sometimes are aware of this very thing. That in the last moments. And hours. And days. Are undeserved. That they are sensitive to the fact. That their lives. [9:06] Are ebbing away. In the sense. That they're living. Their last days. Of faith. And of service. And of commitment to God. And I want to encourage you tonight. [9:16] To have that kind of relationship. With the Lord Jesus. So that wherever you are. On your journey. As a child growing up. Or as someone who is. [9:28] Close to these. Older years. And at the end of days. As we speak. Humor me. But wherever you are. That you live. With that kind of. [9:39] Sensitivity. To know. Where you are. With the Lord Jesus. And to know. Where you are. With regard to. Eternity. It's a big thing. [9:51] It's an important thing. And so often. We hear. Of the way. In which. Something happens. In Providence. And suddenly. Our person is. In eternity. [10:02] With it. Anyway. And even this week. On the west side of Lewis. A gentleman. And his wife. Who came from Wales. In a cabin on eight. Travelling along the west side. [10:14] On the first street. On the island. That was an accident. And that gentleman. Was in eternity. The following morning. We don't know. What God is going to do. We don't know. [10:24] Why he's going to do it. But to have faith. To be sensitive. To God. And his providence. As well as sensitive. To God. And his word. And that's. [10:35] Where we found. Paul. A lesson. That Timothy. Must learn. And that you and I. Also. Must learn. But here. [10:48] There was more to his. Realisation. Than that. He knew. His life. Was coming. To a land. But he knew. That this. Was not the end. And that's. [10:59] Equally important. And of great importance. For the person. Who is the child. Of God. The time. Of. My. Departing. Is at hand. [11:13] It's. The very picture. Of knowing. Where he's going. We plan. Our own. Journeys. And we plan. Where we go. Workwise. Or at holiday. And. With the time. [11:24] Of our departure. It's. It's coming. Because. Our plane is going. Or the ferry is going. And it's going to take us. To the next stage. And here. [11:34] It's Paul. And. It's the person. Who's. Who's. Lived for Christ. Who's. Followed Christ. Who's. Served Christ. And who sees his life. Now. Coming to an end. He sees it. [11:47] As. The time. Of moving on. Somewhere else. And the picture. That he uses. The image. That we have. Is one. That will be. Familiar to many of you. [11:58] More than it is to me. But it's. It is the picture. Of losing the ropes. And lifting the anchor. And letting the boat. Sail off. [12:09] To its next destination. And Paul. In this prison house. In Rome. In that symbolic way. He senses himself. [12:21] Letting go. And going to God. He senses himself. Sailing from this. Prison in Rome. And going to another shore. Which happens to be. [12:33] The shore of glory. Of eternity. What Christ lives with his people. He happens to realize that. And because. He does realize that. Death is not the awful thing. [12:46] That it would be without that. But for. The person. Who has said. In his first imprisonment. In Rome. For me to live this Christ. And to die his game. [12:57] Is now the person. Who is in that very moment. Sensitive to the fact. That he is going. To glory. To be with Jesus. [13:10] That's marvelous. We hear. Stories sometimes. Perhaps of those close to ourselves. The people of God. And we. We have listened to them. [13:20] And watched them. The whole of their lives. Friends. And they are sitting. On their deathbed. Quite composed. They are able to tell us. Where they are. They are able to tell us. [13:31] Where they are going. With the confidence. That any moment now. Jesus is going to come. For them. And they are going to sail away. To be with them. It is the time of joy. [13:42] As victory. And God has given them. A sense of that. And they are able to share that. And they are able to persuade. Others. To embrace the same Jesus. [13:53] So that they will have. The same confidence. When they come. To that moment. And. Without. Being morbid. [14:04] In any way. But being realistic. Let's once more think. About death. And what it means. And let's think about. [14:15] How it is. Transformed. When my faith. Is in the one. Who is. The resurrection. And the life. Who says to me. That though I die. Yet shall I live. [14:28] This is not. Of critical importance. Tonight. That for all of us here. Whatever hearts are. And whatever faith is. It is critical. For all of us here. [14:38] To recognize. Our need of Jesus. To be with us. Right now. So that. When this moment comes. And when we're. [14:49] Stretching out our hand. To untie the ropes. That we will sense. The touch of the hands. Of the Lord Jesus himself. I'll do that for you. [15:02] I'll lift up your hand. I'll set your sail for me. Come to be with Jesus. Come to glory. To be with me. Wouldn't that be. [15:12] A remarkable departure. For the sure. Of what lies ahead. And what would transform. The unknown. To be. [15:24] The living. Reality. Of the promise. Of God. In Jesus. That. We will stand. Around his throne. And we will stand. [15:34] In glory. With him. As he gathers. His church. Into that final. Paradise. Of God. The realisation. [15:47] Paul speaks. In San Corinthians. Fire. About. The way. In which he's. He's groaning. In this earthly tent. He wants. To get out of here. Here it is. [15:58] His boat. But he is waiting. For the time. When the pegs. Are lifted. And when he. Goes off. And he's. Lifted out. Of this time zone. [16:09] Into an entirely. New existence. In the presence. Of God's throne. The realisation. Let's together. [16:19] Ensure tonight. That because of. Our active faith. In the person. Of Jesus Christ. That we can face. Whatever lies. Before us. That we can do it. [16:29] With the assurance. That. Wherever we find ourselves. That he's with us. And when it comes. To the time. Of our departure. We will sense. [16:40] This nearness. In this. Victorious. Conquering way. That he has. Conquered death. Destroyed him. With the power of death. That is the devil. [16:51] And rescued us. Who are all of our lifetimes. Through fear of death. Subject to bondage. What freedom. Can you possibly. Say no to that. Can you possibly. [17:02] Resist. That kind of. Impact on your life. To something. That's precious. To Paul. He wanted Timothy. To know it as precious. As well. And tonight. [17:13] God wants you. Also. To see this. As most. Precious. Secondly. When Paul. [17:24] Realises that. We see. Paul's. Reflection. He looks. He looks. Back. Back at his. Back at his. Own life. And. [17:37] The. Terminology. Use. The grammar. That he uses. Shows this. To us. That when he. Reflects. Upon his life. He goes back. To one time. In his life. The time. [17:47] That was. Life changing. And of course. That was. His encounter. With Jesus. In Damascus. So when he says. Poured out. When he says. I have fought. When he says. I have finished. When he says. I have kept. [17:58] It's a process. That was ongoing. That started. On the road. To Damascus. And it's that process. Which he sees now. Coming. To an end. I have fought. [18:14] The good fight. He knew. He was. In a conflict. If you are a Christian. And you don't know that. Then. [18:25] Serious questions. Are raised. About your Christianity. And about your faith. You cannot have faith. Without the conflict. That the Bible speaks of. [18:36] And you can have faith. With a conflict. That the Bible does not speak of. Or speaks of. In negative terms. The kind of conflict. That you should not have. And sometimes. [18:47] In life. We strain into areas. When we expose ourselves. To conflicts. That should not be there. And they are there. Because. Of a foolishness. And because we've taken. [18:59] The eye. Of the ball. Paul wasn't like that. He says. I have fought. I have fought. The good fight. And of course. It's a good fight. [19:09] In the sense that. There's nothing better than it. But good. In the sense of. Of the Old Testament. It is good. In the sense. That it is in accordance. With the purposes of God. [19:21] It's in accordance. With the design of God. And it is there. In order. For the people of God. To realize. And to fulfill. All of their potential. That's the good. [19:32] That God saw. In the first creation. When he saw. Everything I've made. It was all very good. It's according to my design. It's working the way. That it should. It will bring about. [19:43] The very thing. That I've designed for it. And that's the. The good fight. That Paul finds himself in. It began. When he met with Jesus. [19:53] On the road to Damascus. And from that moment. Onwards. He lives. With a real sense. Of being involved. In what. Is in accordance. With God's plan. [20:05] With God's design. And wherever he goes. Whatever happens to him. Even in prison. In Rome. He understands. All of that. As part of. The good. [20:16] That God has designed. For him. In the life of faith. In the fact of faith. And of course. Paul. Is using. A terminology. That would fit into. To his understanding. [20:27] Of the games arena. With which he was familiar. And he uses. This fighting here. To speak of the way. Which he learned himself. As the person. [20:39] Who. Was. Fighting the things. That he wanted. Timothy to fight against. The. Immorality of the day. The false doctrine. And teaching of the day. And the distractions. [20:51] Created by the world. In which he lived. And able to fight. Against all of these things. And to overcome them. And to do. What he. [21:04] Said to. Romans. In chapter 8. To be more. Than. Conquer. Through him. In order. This. He's fighting. [21:15] The good fight. And he's. Speaking. And he's using. Victoria's language. He doesn't see himself. As one who was stranded. On the way. But by the grace of God. [21:27] And by the strength. Of Jesus. In his life. By the power. Of the spirit of God. He was able to fight. He was able to struggle. He was able to. Do so. To go forward. [21:38] And. To overcome. And there's no doubt. That he did that. In his personal life. And we see that. In 2 Corinthians 4. There's no doubt. [21:49] That he did that. In his ministry. For he struggled. With. With the church. In Corinth. And struggled. In his ministry. Because of them. He knew the personal struggles. He knew the struggles. [22:00] Of serving the Lord. And here he is. Saying that. In his devotion. To Jesus. He has fought. A good. Fight. [22:14] It's a remarkable testimony. If you or I. Were going to say this tonight. People will turn around. And they will say. Who does he or she. [22:25] Think. He or she is. It's that kind of. Bold statement. Nevertheless. It's a bold. Statement. Of faith. And Paul. [22:36] Would be the first. To acknowledge. That he was able. To do this. By the grace. Of God. Alone. The grace. That was always. Sufficient for him. And in his devotion. [22:46] To God. And his devotion. To Jesus. He learned. Day by day. The strength. Of the grace. Of God. In his life. I have fought. The good fight. [22:58] Perhaps. Tonight. You. Are. More aware. Of your failures. Than you are. Of your victories. And the devil. [23:09] Is. First class. At high. Of your failures. And. Doing so. In such a way. As to overshadow. The very grace. That we have. [23:20] In Christ. And. The grace. That we have. In Christ. Is the very grace. That overcomes. Our failures. That help us. To recover from them. So that we. [23:31] Emerge victorious. Out of them. Ultimately. And tonight. In the advice. That Paul gives. To Timothy. With regard to. Fighting this fight. [23:43] Let's not be. Discouraged. Because of our sin. And because. Of our failure. From time to time. Of course. That should be. The case. [23:53] The victim. Is ours. Yes. The spur. Here. To. To rise up. From. The dust. Of any kind of failure. And in our devotion. [24:03] To the Lord. To go on. From strength. To strength. And fought. The good fact. It was. A conflict. But it was also. [24:15] A race. And in any kind of race. There's energy. Required. There's training. Required. There's a curse. Required. And here's all. [24:26] I have finished. The race. In the letter. To the Hebrews. In chapter 12. We are called upon. Let us run the race. With perseverance. [24:37] Looking out to Jesus. That is. The race. That is set before us. There is a curse. And there is a path. And it is. Dictated. By the word of God. [24:47] And it is along. That path. And along that curse. And in these lanes. That God calls us. To so. Serve him. And so. [24:58] The Paul. Who is a factor. Is also the Paul. Who has finished. This race. He has participated. At every stage. [25:10] And he reminds. For example. The Corinthians. Of the way. Which. The Christian. Who is going to run. Must. Not only run. To obtain the prize. But he must run. [25:21] With self. Control. He must. Learn. To behave. Himself. Do the things. That God. That God. Is delighted in. [25:32] And that God. Is honouring with. And so. Running the race. Gives to us. A person. Has finished the race. Gives to us. The picture. Of someone. Who has. Run the whole. [25:44] Cush. Who has done. According to the rules. Who has trained. And who has prepared. For the race. In the appropriate way. So that when. He is engaged in it. Focused. [25:56] On the finishing line. Gaining strength. More and more. From the. Inspiration. That he finds. At the finishing line. And going on. Devoted. [26:09] Loyal. To Jesus. Living for Jesus. In the world. I have finished. I have finished. The race. I'm just. [26:21] Out of interest. In passing. We heard this morning. About. Tetelestai. It is finished. Paul uses. The same verb. To say. [26:35] Tetelika. I have finished. The same grammar. The perfect. Of the verb. Something. That started. And that's ongoing. Synergons. [26:45] And it's now. Reached. It's telos. It's gold. The race. Has reached. It's finishing line. But there's a turning point. There's a hinge. That brings him somewhere else. Yeah. [26:57] Finished. The race. Jesus. Finished. His work. But Paul has. Finished. The race. That grows out. That rises out. Of the work. [27:07] That Jesus. Finished. And so it goes. To be. With. Jesus. I have finished. The race. How we need to. [27:18] Be careful. How we live. For God. If our faith. Is weak. There's nothing more damaging. To our faith. Than doing the things. [27:30] That God forbids. And not doing the things. That God commands. And we have to learn. As the children of God. As Timothy must learn. We have to learn. [27:42] To do the things. That will strengthen our faith. And because. When our faith is weak. We are more open to temptation. And in these moments. [27:52] We are likely to follow. Coaches of action. That are so humble. To ourselves. And to others as well. And to. To recover us from that. [28:03] It will take a lot of prayer. A lot of work. It will take the grace of God. To bring us back. We need to ensure. That we are following. The push. [28:15] That is saying. Before us. I have finished. The race. He has done so. In that devoted way. He has. [28:28] Kept. The faith. He has. Kept it. Like. A. Prison guard. Would keep. A prisoner. Paul. [28:39] Is like. A safe deposit box. For the faith. In the sense of. Of the word of God. All that the gospel. Stands for. The gospel. Of Jesus Christ. He has been. [28:50] Loyal to it. Devoted to it. He has kept it. He hasn't. Be unfaithful. In any of it. And. Timothy. Is. In. [29:01] Endangered. In. Society. In which she lives. Himself. Endangered. Because of. False doctrine. And how that. Will. Influence. And. In fact. Upon him. In his own. [29:11] Passionate. And also. In his ministry. And. Paul. Was to. Encourage Timothy. By. Speaking of. The way. Which. He has. Kept. [29:23] The faith. He has never. Said anything. Or done. Anything. That's. Contrary. To the gospel. Of Jesus Christ. And. [29:35] That's. Of course. What we pray for. That's. What we. We've been called. To do. To keep the faith. In that sense. And. Whether. I'm a. [29:45] Preacher. Of the gospel. Or. A believer. Wherever I might be. Whoever I am. As a disciple. Of the Lord Jesus. This is. What we've called. [29:56] Upon. To do. For each. Individual. Passion. To be that. Save. Deposit books. For the gospel. So we can speak. [30:07] It out. And do so. Clearly. And imagine. The impact. If all of us. Together. Tonight. Were the kind of. Safety. Positbox. For the gospel. That Paul was. [30:18] And working together. From the. Imagined. Impact. The inconsistency. Is gone. The gaps. Are filled. The gospel. [30:29] In its fullness. Comes out. From all of us. Individually. Together. That's powerful. That's where Paul worked. He wants Timothy. To fall. In his footsteps. [30:39] In the same way. He wants. To be the same. Kind of Christian. With the same. Devotion. To the truth. Of the gospel. And a life. That shows that. [30:51] In its walk. And a life. That shows that. Also. In its talk. The realization. And the reflection. [31:05] Dr. St. Copeland. Tells a story. When he was. Teaching in the seminary. In America. And. The class. Came in at the. At the beginning. Of the semester. [31:15] Going to the pastoral. Theology class. And on. The first day. Of the course. The students. All gathered. Excited. At commencing. On the course. And the. [31:27] Professor. Handed them. A blank. Piece. Of paper. And he told them. To go. And take. Half an hour. And write. Their own. Obedience. And you can imagine. [31:39] Their faces. What a funny way. To start. A cultural. Pastor of theology. But you see. He wanted them. To think about. The kind of life. They were going to live. And what people. [31:49] Would say about that. At the end. As well. Of course. What God. Would say about it. But it's. An interesting lesson. And. Paul is. Basically. Doing that here. [32:00] He's. Using his own life. Reflecting. On his own life. And speaking it out. To Timothy. So that he will. Grasp. The kind of life. Timothy had. [32:11] And so that he will. Think about. What he will be able to say. At the end of his own life. And it is. Very often. The means of. Giving us. Direction. And urgency. [32:23] What will. People say. About you. At the end of your life. More importantly. What will God. Have to say. About you. Is it. [32:34] That. Is it not. An interesting. Exercise. For us. To have to think. Of our future. And to ensure. That at the end. Of our days. We are able to say. [32:44] I have fought. The good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept. The faith. Finally. There is. [32:57] A reward. In verse 8. That is what. Paul comes to. Finally. There is. Laid up for me. The crown of righteousness. [33:08] Which the Lord. The righteous judge. Will give to me. On that day. And not to me only. But also. To all. Who have loved his. Appeal. You see. [33:19] He is moving. Right into. The arena. Of the judgment. Of God. The Jesus. Who is. Going to come. At the end. Of the age. In verse 1. I charge you. [33:30] Therefore. Before God. And the Lord. Jesus Christ. Who will judge. The living. And the dead. At his appearing. And his kingdom. And because. Of the life. That Paul has lived. [33:41] As a servant. Of Jesus Christ. He is quite. Clear. About his reward. Remarkable. That has laid up. [33:53] For me. The crown. Of righteousness. It's waiting there. It's kind of. In the trophy cupboard. [34:04] You can think like that. It's in God's. Trophy cupboard. This crown. That the. The wreath. That they would. Be given. I won. A race. Or a contest. In the. In the. [34:14] The theatre. In the. The great arena. Here. Were the prizes. And Paul is able to. To look beyond. His prisoners in Rome. To look beyond. [34:26] His. His failing health. And the circumstances. And to see. What God has. That exciting. That tonight. We can. [34:36] Lift their hearts. From where we are. And. Be led by the word of God. To where. Jesus is. Who will judge. The whole earth. And to see. [34:47] What he has. For those who have. Sincere. Genuine faith. To those who live. In dependence upon him. And here it is. The crown. Of righteousness. [35:03] What does that mean? For Paul. As I said. It was. The. Wreath. The crown. That was made. Of flowers. And leaves. [35:13] And everything else. Placed on the person. Who was going to. Win the prize. And righteousness. Is the very thing. That. Paul. [35:23] Learned. Jesus. Would give to her. And when he met him. On the road to Damascus. There grew out of there. The understanding. That Jesus died. Because. [35:34] Of the righteousness. Of God. So that he would have. The righteousness. Of God. In Jesus. And that's why. He can see. In 2 Corinthians 5. That God. Made him. Jesus. Who knew no sin. [35:46] To be sin for us. That we might be. The righteousness. Of God. In him. And so. He's looking forward. To. To this moment in life. When he would be given. The crown. [35:56] Of righteousness. And it's. The crown. In the sense. That it is. The final experience. And enjoyment. Of righteousness. The righteousness. [36:06] Itself. Is the crown. It is standing. Before God. With that hope. Of righteousness. That he speaks of. In a Galatians time. Now being fulfilled. [36:18] The whole idea. Of standing. Before God. Without corruption. Without sin. Without mortality. [36:31] All of the things. That plague. And life. Going to be raised. Up in glory. With Jesus. And clothed. In that righteousness. Standing. [36:42] Before. The throne. Of God. And God. Openly. Acknowledging. And acquitting. Paul. As he will. The rest of the people. Of God. Who is. [36:53] This. And we hear Jesus. Saying. This is. My servant. Paul. This is. My servant. Paul. Who. Who persecuted. [37:04] The man. At the church. This is my servant. Paul. To whom. I made myself. Known. On the road. To Damascus. And. To whom. I gave. To understand. [37:15] What it is. To be justified. By faith. And to have peace. With God. I gave him. I gave him. I gave him. I gave him. I also gave him. A duty. To serve me. I gave him. [37:25] A calling. And he has. Followed. My commands. He has. Remained. Lawyer. To. And here he is now. [37:36] Arriving. According to your plan. The plan of God. Here he is now. Arriving. For the spine. Of the Lord. And take. [37:47] The symbolic. Take the garments. Out. And clothe them. In the beauty. Of the whiteness. Of the garments. Of eternal glory. So that he will dwell. [37:58] Forever. With me. Around your throne. In the very paradise. Of God. The crown. Of righteousness. The complete righteousness. [38:11] Standing. Before that. Awesome throne. Where the righteousness. And the glory. And the holiness. Of God. Shines forth. [38:23] Being able. To stand there. With confidence. Without fear. Accepted by God. And changed. At last. Of the very likeness. [38:36] Of Christ. The reward. What a wonderful. Prospect. For. Says Paul. [38:47] For all. Of the people. Of God. For those. Who have. The sincere. Faith. For those. Who live. Their lives. Devoted to him. Which the Lord. [38:59] The righteous. Judges. Should do to me. On that day. And not to me. Only. But also. To all. Who love. His. Appeal. But who have loved. His. Appeal. [39:11] There was. A growing sense. In Paul's own heart. A love. For Jesus. Who loved me. And gave himself. For me. That that love. [39:22] But beyond. That fact. That he was loved. By Jesus. On the cross. That he was loved. By Jesus. On the road. Of Damascus. That there was more. [39:32] To that love. He longed. To see. To know. The appearance. Of Jesus. When he would stand. Before him. [39:42] And when he would stand. On the earth. His whole heart. His energy. Was given over. To that. This whole being. Reaching out. [39:54] As God commanded us. To love the Lord God. With all our heart. With all our soul. And with all our strength. And with all our mind. That's the kind of. Dynamic I have. In love. [40:05] And that's the dynamic. That was working. In Paul's heart. And tonight. It is the. Dynamic. That is. Increasingly. [40:15] Powerful. In the heart. Of the child. Of God. It's there. In its. Very essence. At the very beginning. Of our journey. Of it. And as we. [40:27] Come closer. And closer. To this moment. It is that. Intensity. Of desire. Of our love. For the Lord Jesus. And a love. [40:38] That will. Find it. Satisfaction. Only when. We shall see it. And we shall. Be like it. What will you. [40:50] Reward be. What is your faith. Saying. In your heart. Do you have faith. Speaking. To you. And do you have faith. Recognizing. [41:03] What Paul is saying. Are these words. Finding a knuckle. In your heart. Love. For Jesus. Will be. Will be. Ever increasing. And as you. [41:13] Come closer. To the time. Of you. Departing. You'll be. Just like him. Assured. Of your love. From. Today. And assured. Of. [41:24] The way. Which you. Elected. Into. A new level. Of love. And of joy. And of experience. And of. Understanding. As the lamb. [41:36] Who is in the midst. Of the throne. Will shepherd us. And lead us. Into. Furnance. Of living water. And. God will. Wipe away. [41:47] All tears. From our eyes. What a prospect. Let's reflect. With Paul. Let's be sensitive. To where we are. In the presence of God. [41:58] And let's rejoice. In his grace. And let's rejoice. Also. In the hope. Of his good. Make all this word. Through his ministry. Thank you. Then.кое. May God bless. Thank you. May God bless his wortons. [42:09] May God bless his円. May God bless his wortons. May God bless you. May God bless his wortons. May God bless his wortons. May God bless his wheat. May God bless his wortons.
